COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said on Wednesday that a sexually violent predator has moved to an address in Colorado Springs.

CSPD said Larry Kaualeni Abenes, 61, was convicted in 2006 of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust - victim under 15, and aggravated incest in El Paso County. He was also convicted of two counts of second-degree sodomy in Kohala County, Hawaii, in 1985.

Abenes is currently registered as living at the Community Correction facility “Embrave” at 3950 N Nevada Ave. He is described as an Asian/Pacific Islander male, 5-foot-7 inches tall, 176 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

According to CSPD, Abenes is a sex offender whose past behavior has led him to be labeled as a “Sexually Violent Predator”
