KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office has identified the driver involved in a fatal crash yesterday in the Glasgow area of Kanawha County.

Deputies said the driver was Marvin James Smith Jr., 50, of Rand.

The crash happened when his Jeep Grand Cherokee Smith was operating left of the roadway while attempting a left-hand curve, according to deputies.

Deputies said Smith’s vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned beside the railroad tracks.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
