A Foxboro man who went to prison for strangling his pregnant fiancée to death in 2007 and last week was ordered held without bail on a new murder charge died this week, court documents show.

Taylor Hurst , 42, died on or about Wednesday, according to a filing by the Suffolk district attorney’s office asking that Hurst’s case be dismissed.

It was not clear where or how Hurst died.

Neither the Suffolk County sheriff’s office, which oversees the jail, nor Hurst’s court-appointed lawyer responded to requests for comment from the Globe.

At an arraignment hearing on the morning of Aug. 22 in Boston Municipal Court in West Roxbury, Hurst pleaded not guilty to a murder committed in Jamaica Plain. A man’s badly beaten body had been discovered under a bed on July 6.
