DENVER — President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that U.S. Space Command headquarters will relocate from Colorado Springs to Huntsville, Alabama, reviving a move first unveiled at the end of his first term and later reversed by former President Joe Biden.
“I am thrilled to report that the U.S. Space Command headquarters will move to the beautiful locale of a place called Huntsville, Alabama,” Trump said. “Forever to be known from this point forward as Rocket City.”
He also acknowledged that politics played a role in the decision.
“So Huntsville, Alabama — we love Alabama, I only won it by about 47 points. I don’t think that influenced my decision though, right?” he joked.
