Something in Tracy Ferreira’s life just wasn’t adding up – again.

It looked like she was living large – much larger than what her income working in the office of Try Recycling would cover.

A customer noticed, but Ferreira, who was tasked with managing client accounts, assured them she was getting bonuses from one of the London environmental recycling firm’s sister companies.

That didn’t ease suspicions. The customer told the employer, and Try Recycling got the police involved. What was discovered sent shock through the company and left a deep sense of betrayal.

Ferreira, who started as a scale operator in 2018 before being promoted to an administrative role, had stolen close to $1.4-million between January 2021 and October 2023.
