St. Thomas police are investigating after four masked men, one reportedly armed, attempted to rob a credit union on Tuesday afternoon.

Four males, described as Black or dark-complexioned and believed to be in their late teens to early 20s, entered the Libro Credit Union on 1073 Talbot St. in St. Thomas Tuesday around 4 p.m. and “bound the hands of several employees,” police said.

An employee and a customer at the scene called 911 about the incident.

One of the suspects was carrying what appeared to be a firearm, police said.

The men remained inside the financial institution for about five minutes before fleeing in a silver or grey 2017 Honda CR-V parked on the south side of the building, police said.

No money or property was taken, police added.
