Gov. Jeff Landry and top officials from President Donald Trump's administration are expected to announce today the opening of an ICE detention center on the grounds of the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

Landry shared a report by FOX News on X Wednesday morning, and said the facility would house the "worst of the worst" ICE detainees. Some 51 detainees have already been moved to the facility, which is being called the "Louisiana Lockup," Fox reported .

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi will join Landry Wednesday afternoon at Angola to talk about the facility.
