A White Castle man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning that killed a pedestrian, State Police said.

Richard Wagner, 46, was booked into the Iberville Parish jail on counts of hit-and-run, failure to render aid, driving under suspension of a license and an expired motor vehicle, the agency said.

The body of the victim, 29-year-old Kade Dupree of Plaquemine, was found by the side of the road on La. 75, near Plaquemine, shortly before 7 a.m., State Police said in a news release.

Parts of a 2001 Ford F-150 were left at the scene of the crash, which investigators used to identify the owner of the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation, State Police said.
