SALEM, Ore. — As major turmoil continues at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Oregon, California and Washington have partnered to form a West Coast Health Alliance — a new organization for providing public health guidelines.

Gov. Tina Kotex announced the partnership Wednesday morning alongside California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson.

"The CDC has become a political tool that increasingly peddles ideology instead of science, ideology that will lead to severe health consequences. California, Oregon and Washington will not allow the people of our states to be put at risk," the governors wrote as part of a joint statement.
