HILTON, N.Y. (WROC) — School is in session for students in Hilton, and a big topic of discussion this year is cell phones.
New York schools had to implement a "bell-to-bell" cell phone ban, which requires all students to put their electronic devices away for the entire day. Hilton High School Principal, Dr. Jeff Green, is excited for the shift.
"We've been working on it since the springtime," he said. "We went into the summer knowing that we're going to be utilizing our non-locking pouches. Students know they need to put all their personal electronic devices in those pouches before they come to the building, and they're just not seen or heard from for the rest of the day."
