BEAN'S PURCHASE, NH (ABC22/FOX44) - A 72-year old was rescued from Carter Notch Hut after she suffered a leg injury Tuesday.

At roughly 5:00 p.m., authorities were notified about the hiker injured while descending from the Carter-Moriah Trail, down the Wildcat River Trail and to a dispersed campsite, according to NH Fish and Game officials.

The individual was with her two sons on a multi-day hike. After the injury, one son reportedly went to the hut for assistance. An AMC employee responded and splinted the leg, and both sons carried this hiker to Carter Notch bunkhouse.

After calling for help, rescue crews hiked up the trail towards the hut, and eventually arrived at 8:10 p.m. There, a vacuum splint was placed on the hiker, and she was put into a rescue litter.
