Cardi B was found not liable for assault Tuesday in a civil case surrounding a secret visit to a Southern California obstetrician in 2018.
A security guard at the doctor’s office, Emani Ellis, sued Cardi for assault and claimed the “Bodak Yellow” rapper scratched her during an altercation in the building. However, all 12 jurors agreed with Cardi’s side of the story and cleared her.
“The next person who tries to do a frivolous lawsuit against me, I’m going to counter-sue, and I’m gonna make you pay, because this is not OK ,” Cardi said outside the courtroom after the verdict. “I am not that celeb that you sue, and you think is going to settle. I’m not gonna settle. Especially when I’m super completely innocent.”
