SEARCY, Ark. – Officials said an investigation by the Searcy police led to the arrest of a local man for child exploitation.

Officials said 37-year-old Quentin Andrew Whaley of Searcy was arrested Aug. 29. He is facing 60 counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, they added.

Authorities said an investigation into Whaley was made after Searcy police received a complaint about him. Officials did not disclose the nature of the complaint.

A search warrant was executed on Whaley’s home, leading to what detectives said was evidence of probable cause for his arrest. Officials did not disclose the evidence found.

Whaley is currently held in the White County Detention Center for $150,000 bond.
