NILES, Mich. (WNDU) - A 20-year-old man who is already in prison on a 122-and-a-half-year sentence for the 2022 murder of two Niles women at a South Bend apartment complex will now face trial later this year for the 2022 death of a Niles teen at a Niles apartment complex.

According to our reporting partners at The Herald-Palladium , the case against Rease Pence was set for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday morning before he decided to waive the hearing and go to trial.

That jury trial is set to begin on Dec. 3. Pence, who is being held in the Berrien County Jail on no bond, will next be in court on Oct. 15 for a case conference and Nov. 17 for a status conference.
