Former South Carolina Gamecocks basketball star, Sindarius Thornwell, has been arrested.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said 30-year-old Thornwell was taken into custody on Tuesday. He was charged with second-degree domestic violence and unlawful conduct toward a child. Deputies say Thornwell denied hitting the victim but did admit to throwing a cup of water at them. Investigators with the Richland County Sheriff's Department interviewed the victim and did confirm their claims with additional evidence.
Thornwell was a basketball star at South Carolina, helping lead the Gamecocks to a Final Four appearance in 2017. He was named the SEC Player of the Year that season and went on to be drafted to the NBA before playing internationally.
