ARCADIA, La. -- Leroy Hamilton will officially take the helm of Bienville Parish Schools following his five-month stint as acting superintendent.

He was chosen Tuesday out of a pool of six applicants narrowed down to three to interview. Those interviewed included Hamilton, Shane Lee and Jeremiah Williams.

The final vote was 4-3. Voting for Hamilton were District 1 Sharolyn Boston, District 3 Derrika Bailey, District 5 Martha Grigg and District 6 Colton Guin. Voting for Williams was District 2 Oswald Townsend and District 4 Darren Iverson. Shane Lee received no votes.

Hamilton is happy to be able to continue the work he’s begun as acting superintendent. He had been serving as the d irector of child welfare and attendance.
