LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Aspiring singer, songwriter, and Laredo talent Haiylin Bella opened up about her unlikely path into the music industry, performing in the genres of cumbia, pop, and reggaeton.
Bella recalled how early discouragement once pushed her away from music. “When I was little, someone that I really looked up to told me, ‘singing is not for you, don’t even try it. You’re not going to be like Selena,’” Bella said. “I went on with my life, but it was always in the back of my mind. My dad was a musician, so it was always in my life.”
At 28, she decided to commit to her passion fully, telling us that’s when she enrolled in classes to help grow her talents. And even though she says she’ll always be a student, she mentions that the move was a wake-up call to go all-in, saying she t
