BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern Community Foundation announced it is now accepting applications from nonprofits for the Fall 2025 competitive grant cycle of the Kern River Valley Community Fund.

The grant application window is from Sept. 1 to Oct. 15, according to the foundation.

Local nonprofit organizations that are selected will receive about $5,000 for their projects that support the Kern River Valley community, the foundation said.

According to organizers, the fund is meant to receive philanthropic contributions and distribute grants for projects that aim to help create a better place for living, working and visiting for the community.

To be eligible, one must be: • A 501(c)3 public charity • Registered with the Kern Community Foundation • Current with the GuideStar T
