BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Paladino Fire has been contained after breaking out just after 5 p.m. on Paladino and Morning drives, which spread all across the bluffs near Alfred Harrell Highway, burning more than 400 acres.

The massive wildfire that's been sending smoke plumes over Bakersfield, known as the Paladino Fire, has been extinguished by fire crews after sending smoke to nearby homes and throughout town.

The neighborhood, Rivergrove, is dangerously close to the extinguished fire. Video shows the fire spreading towards this houses backyard.

That spread was redirected, saving the beautiful home.

Both Bakersfield and Kern County Fire Departments have been battling the blaze as it spreads across the rolling hills. Helicopter crews made countless rounds to douse the flames bef
