FARGO — North Dakota State women's basketball forward Claire Stern will no longer be part of the playing roster, with the university in a release citing a medical condition as the reason. She'll continue to be part of the program.
"Unfortunately, due to unexpected medical reasons, I have to step away from playing," Stern said in the release. "I feel so blessed to be part of this amazing team and family. I'm excited to embrace a new role and continue supporting my teammates in this next chapter."
She played in 32 games as a true freshman averaging 4.1 points and 13.7 minutes per game. NDSU head coach Jory Collins said the team is "grateful she is healthy and able to continue to be a Bison."
