King Charles offered words of encouragement to a cancer patient and gave an update about his own health during a hospital visit today.
After a break at Balmoral, Charles resumed royal duties in Birmingham , where he officially opened the new 736-bed Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick. He was greeted by crowds of staff, patients, and volunteers.
Still receiving treatment himself, the King toured the hospital's new enclosed winter garden and spoke with patients and staff. Among them was 73-year-old Matthew Shinda from Oldbury, who shared his experience of being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
