MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Ironman Triathlon is returning to Madison and bringing some road closures with it.

The Ironman race will begin at 7 a.m. each day, with the Ironman 70.3 happening Saturday and the full triathlon happening Sunday.

The 200 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard is closed Wednesday for start/finish line set up. MLK Boulevard is expected to reopen by 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8.

The bicycle route will take riders on John Nolen Drive on Sunday, blocking the right lane of northbound John Nolen Drive from East Lakeside Street to the Monona Terrace, Olin-Turville Court, and Rimrock Road ramps from the Beltline.

The running portion of the race will go through the Capitol Square, the Southwest Commuter Path, through Camp Randall and through parts of UW Campus.
