Community members of Fort Saskatchewan are slated to come together on September 10th for a candlelight vigil which is aiming to support suicide awareness and stigma removal around mental health.
The event is planned to start at 7 p.m. at Legacy Park.
Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and dress for the weather.
Candles will be provided. Participants can visit a designated table in front of the stage to leave the name of a loved one and receive a candle in their memory.
For those in need of support, a weekly support group meets every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pioneer House, with everyone welcome to attend.
This is the fourth year that the candlelight vigil is taking place. It takes place every year on September 10.
