Yesterday (September 3, 2025), at approximately 11:04 a.m., the RCMP were alerted to a woman brandishing a firearm on 48 Street in Stony Plain.
The 35-year-old woman was believed to be under the influence as she first entered a bank with a firearm, demanding envelopes. She then attended a nearby pharmacy. It is alleged that the woman pointed the firearm in multiple directions, including at an employee, while her fingers pulled the trigger. Thankfully the weapon was not loaded.
When police approached, the woman initially complied with the request to put down the firearm. She complied initially, but then resisted arrest.
The perpetrator is being held in custody pending a bail hearing. Charges are pending for multiple weapons offences.
