Habitat for Humanity to auction Planet Earth scuptures
Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley will auction off the Home Planet Earth sculptures on display in the Elgin area this summer at a gala from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at The Highland Lofts in downtown Elgin.
The evening will feature silent and live auctions, dinner, drinks and activities, according to a social media post. Attendees are encouraged to “dress to the nines” for the event.
More than 30 fiberglass sculptures of buzzing bumblebees, butterfly benches and big globes painted by local artists were on display in public spaces to promote Habitat’s Carter Crossing project in Carpentersville. Money from their sale will benefit families seeking affordable housing, the post said.
Tickets to the gala are $175 per pers
