WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) -- The future of the Trumbull County Dog Pound was the focus of a special meeting before county commissioners Wednesday morning.

Executive Dog Warden Michelle Goss, county commissioners and animal rescue advocates are coming together to find a way to make a new dog pound a reality.

"We definitely need to move forward with this new facility. I think that's why we are all here," Goss said.

"Commissioner [Dennis] Malloy, Commissioner [Tony] Bernard and myself all want to see this come to fruition," said County Commissioner Rick Hernandez.

Plans for a new pound have been in the works for years. Animal Welfare League donated land for the facility near its shelter in Vienna.
