Jersey Shore towns are increasingly dealing with a rotten smell of dead fish due mass die-offs, and experts say the problem is only going to get worse in the future.
In Harvey Cedars in Long Beach Island, residents and visitors recall the awful stench that had popped up there in recent years.

"Nasty, like nasty. You couldn't even be outside," said Kristy Carruba, who vacations in Harvey Cedars.
"The smell is like the worst smell," said Bruce Hogan, a Harvey Cedars homeowner. "From the backyard of a fish market times 10.”
The stench was caused by millions of dead fish who could not survive in the warmer waters off the coast because they hold less dissolved oxygen.
