UNO has promoted Clayton O’Callaghan to be the head coach of the men’s and women’s track and field program along with cross country.

O’Callaghan, a UNO alum, sees his previous title of associate cross country head coach and assistant track coach upgraded to head coach of both programs. The university announced O’Callaghan’s promotion during a Tuesday press release.

The release stated that previous UNO track and field coach Ben Hibbert has left the program. Hibbert was UNO’s interim track coach for over two years after taking over in place of former head coach Brock Moreaux.

O’Callaghan began coaching at UNO in 2017 as a graduate assistant and returned to the Privateers staff in 2023. He coached at his alma Catholic-Pointe Coupee in 2020 before coaching at Southeastern for two years begi
