The mayor of the village of Stirling has announced that he has stepped down after selling his house before local elections take place this fall.

Trevor Lewington, who is also the current CEO of Economic Development Lethbridge, has served as Stirling’s mayor for the past 12 years, overseeing the community’s fast growth in population and major core infrastructure. Lewington names some of his biggest accomplishments as bringing fibre optic service to the village and erecting a local cenotaph for honouring fallen troops. A new mayor will replace Lewington after municipal elections on October 20.
