NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — In New Orleans we love our spicy foods, so naturally, a Lakeview restaurant is cooking up something using Hatch Green Chile, all the way from New Mexico.

WGNO's Kenny Lopez takes us to Juniors on Harrison.

Chef Jared Heider over at Juniors on Harrison is using Hatch green chile from New Mexico, which is over 1,000 miles away from New Orleans. He's using the green chile to make a special Mac-n-Cheese.

"We get them in fresh and we roast them all ourselves," said Head Chef Jared Heider.

"To make the Mac-n-Cheese we add sauteed onions, a little bit of garlic, add in a nice heap of butter, then we add our Hatch Chiles, we'll add in a combination of milk and heavy cream, add a ton of chiles to this to make it very prominent. We use pre-made pasta made fresh by one of our
