PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Two boys were arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle on Tuesday.

A 14 and 15-year-old was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, obstructing police and burglary of a motor vehicle, Peoria police spokeswoman Semone Roth said.

Officers initially went near West Andover Drive and North Frostwood Parkway around 11:39 p.m. on a report of two people trying to get into parked vehicles.

Before officers arrived, the suspects left in a vehicle that was allegedly reported to be stolen. The vehicle was located on North Stonewood Court. When officers approached, four people ran away into a nearby wooded area.

After a short chase, the 14 and 15-year-olds were taken into custody. The other two suspects were not found.
