YOSEMITE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A photograph of a mountain lion seemingly caring for a bear cub is going viral on social media, but park officials say there is more to the story.
According to the post, the mountain lion was captured on Yosemite National Park wildlife cameras raising and caring for the cub.
The post goes on to say, "Rangers first noticed the pair traveling together at night, the cub trotting at the lion’s side as if it had always belonged there. Over the weeks, the cameras showed more: the lion pausing to let the cub rest, sharing kills, and even circling protectively when other predators approached."
