The United Way of Southwest Michigan is now taking registrations for its annual Rake a Difference event, to be held November 13 across Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties.

The United Way’s Debbie Ramirez tells us Rake a Difference is when hundreds of volunteers throughout the three counties rake leaves and clear gutters at the homes of seniors for a day. The organization looks to serve around 350 seniors each year, and Ramirez says some appreciate the help so much, they tear up.
