It seems that the secret’s out about local summer along the Jersey Shore.

Travel + Leisure ranked the Jersey Shore as a top destination to travel to in September, joining 20 other domestic and foreign destinations around the world.

While it may be the last few days of summer, there’s still some time this month to visit these towns before the chilly fall air sets in.

Here’s what this national ranking had to say about our state’s beaches.

What Jersey Shore towns made the list?

The standout factors for them including the Jersey Shore in the ranking had to do with the state’s 90 miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches, warm weather and warm ocean waves, according to Travel + Leisure .

High praise was given to Atlantic City’s boardwalk with Steel Pier and a variety of nightlife options.
