The man rear-ended by Jay Cutler in October is suing the former Vanderbilt University and NFL quarterback for damages.
The lawsuit was filed in Williamson County Circuit Court weeks after Cutler pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and agreed to serve four days in jail related to the crash.
Franklin man Perry Lee was driving on Bridge Street in Franklin on Oct. 17, 2024, when Cutler, driving at an unsafe speed, crashed into the back of his car, his lawsuit states. A police affidavit said Cutler offered the driver $2,000 to not call the police and to let him drive away.
