No. 2 West Essex opens season with shutout over Johnson

Adelaide Minnella posted two goals and two assists to lead No. 2 in the NJ.com Top 20 West Essex in a 6-0 rout over Johnson, in North Caldwell.

Katie Moran made six saves to earn the shutout for the Knights (1-0).

Jillian Breslin and Delany Farrell each recorded a goal and one assist in the win. Angelina Tartara and Julia Conforti also scored while Abby Agostini and Alex Agostini each recorded an assist.

Alyssa Szarszewski recorded 17 saves for Johnson (0-1).
