Two Golden State residents have won nearly $1 million after the latest Powerball drawing.

Following Wednesday's drawing, lottery officials said no one hit the major jackpot, which was set to be the fourth-largest in Powerball history.

Lottery officials say that means the jackpot has grown to an estimated $1.7 billion ahead of the next drawing. That would make it the third-largest jackpot in Powerball history.

But two Californians have won $984,594 before federal taxes.

California Lottery said those tickets were purchased at an Albertsons on Highway 58 in Bakersfield and at a Stater Bros. Market on Arlington Avenue in Riverside.
