Rugby league club Salford Red Devils have been thrown a lifeline after a HMRC winding-up petition was adjourned for the second time today.
The crisis-hit club is more than 150 years old but is facing a fight for its future after mounting debts and the departure of several key players.

In a statement, the club offered its ‘sincere gratitude’ for the adjournment, which has bought it more time to get its finances in order.
The case was first due to be heard in June but this was also pushed back.
