Everybody takes a look at the scores from the season openers and makes a bold assumption about the rest of the year. If your team won big, than start looking at reserving a bus for Ford Field for Thanksgiving weekend. Did your team lose big? Season is over, right. Grab the basketballs.

Let's just take a breath.

Those kinds of overreactions are not based on reality. How teams did in the first week has more to do with matchups, or maybe a lucky bounce, or a bad quarter. There's also the old coaching saying, that teams make their greatest improvements from Week 1 to Week 2.
