A local neighborhood association has withdrawn a legal complaint against the Jefferson Parish Council to halt the new Ochsner Health Children's Hospital after deciding they didn't have a strong enough case to move forward.
Almost a year after the council gave Ochsner the go-ahead to construct a standalone children's hospital building, the Old Jefferson Community Association pulled its lawsuit against the parish alleging that it unlawfully approved the health system's zoning application — although the association's attorney says residents still want a seat at the table when it comes to future negotiations between the parish and Ochsner.
