FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two people have been arrested in connection with a North Carolina state trooper being shot at on Tuesday night during an attempted traffic stop in Fayetteville .

The trooper was not hit, but the Highway Patrol vehicle was riddled with bullets.

It unfolded shortly before 8:30 p.m. when the trooper tried to stop a speeding vehicle on I-295, and a man leaned out of the passenger window of the car and fired several gunshots, hitting the patrol vehicle, including the front bumper and the tires.

On September 3, the State Highway Patrol arrested Jumar Lavelle Moore, 21, of Fayetteville.

He was found in Spring Lake and NCSHP believe he was the passenger that fired gunshots at the trooper.
