Special investigative committees are now in place to begin a fresh review of last year's property reassessment.

The first reassessment in decades led to big property tax increases and school tax hikes for many Delawareans.

Senate President Pro Tempore David Sokola, D-Newark and House Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown, D-New Castle said public hearings will begin this month examining the reassessment. Later hearings will examine future reassessments and tax structures and how reassessments relate to funding of education. They will also talk about possible legislative actions, and explore options to provide "targeted tax relief" for Delawareans.

The hearings will be held at Legislative Hall in Dover and will also be live-streamed . The proposed tentative schedule is as follows:
