GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - An Upstate family is finally getting closure more than three years after a loved on was killed by a drunk driver.

Kara Rae Reynolds was four times over the legal limit when she hit and killed William Ford in February of 2022.

Ford’s wife thought the case would be over quickly due to Reynold’s blood-alcohol content test. However, the closure didn’t come until three and a half years later after FOX Carolina Investigates started asking questions.

Reynolds was quickly charged in connection to Ford’s death but by spring 2025, the case stalled with no new events listed in online court records.

Ford’s wife says she was told that the solicitor’s office was still backed up from COVID and they would let her know of any updates.
