NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner’s Office provided an update on the death of a Mullins man who suffered a medical emergency Monday night at the county jail.
Donald Lee Robinson, 58, died from ischemic heart disease, Chief Deputy Coroner Brittney Martin said. The coroner’s office ruled the death to be from natural causes.
The American Heart Association says ischemic heart disease is also known as coronary artery disease or coronary heart disease.
Sheriff’s office spokesperson Lexi Douglas said detention deputies were alerted to an inmate suffering a “medical emergency” at around 8 p.m. Monday. Detention center medical staff and emergency responders from the North Charleston Fire Department and Charleston County EMS attempted life-saving measures before taking
