BLUFFTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Bluffton Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person in critical condition.
Police responded to a health welfare check at the 1200 block of May River Road at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday when they located a person reportedly passed out in a vehicle with the door partially open.
Upon arrival, they were able to determine that the person had sustained a gunshot wound in their upper torso, according to Bluffton town spokesperson Eydie Moody.
Officers, Bluiffton Township Fire District and Beaufort County EMS all rendered immediate aid before they transported them to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
No arrests have been made as officers continue to investigate the incident.
