WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — The new school year is underway in Williamsville, and at Forest Elementary, the excitement is all about welcoming a new group of kindergarteners.

"Forest Elementary is a great school. It's a small elementary school that pretty much encompasses the students in the village of Williamsville and a little bit of the outlying areas," Principal Keith Wing said.

This year’s kindergarten class is unique. Most of the students were born in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic.

"We take every kid as they are. As an educator, that's what we do," Kindergarten Teacher Kristina Kraatz said. "We're going to provide them with everything that they need. We're excited for this incoming group, and if anything, it's a story they can tell."
