NEW HARTFORD, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- The pastor of the Word of Life Church where two brothers were beaten -- one to death -- received parole on Tuesday.

First reported by the Daily Sentinel on Wednesday, September 3, Tiffanie Irwin was released on parole on Tuesday, September 2. Irwin was serving 12 years at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility -- near New York City -- after being convicted of manslaughter and assault. She served almost nine years of that sentence, arriving at the maximum-security prison in 2016.

Irwin was one of nine people convicted in the 2015 beating, in which two brothers -- Lucas and Christopher Leonard -- were whipped by their half-sister at the church. They were then kept without medical assistance for nearly 12 hours. One of the brothers died from their injuries,
