NEW YORK (PIX11) – The Powerball jackpot is up to $1.7 billion, and New Yorkers took home a good chunk of the prize this week.
Two tickets worth $50,000 were sold in New York ahead of Wednesday night’s drawing. One was sold at Predmore’s General Store in Georgetown and a second at 113th Gourmet Deli in Richmond Hill, according to lottery officials.
The next drawing is on Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 292,201,338.
It’s been a lucky few weeks for New York lottery players. At least 18 people took home Powerball tickets worth $50,000 last week across the Bronx, Queens, Long Island and other parts of New York.
Earlier this month, a player in Queens purchased a prize-winning ticket worth $1 million.
