INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis man has been arrested after he was reportedly involved in a shooting at an apartment complex on the city's northeast side in early July.

According to a news release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, 28-year-old Edgar Torrence was taken into custody on Thursday on the following charges from the Marion County Prosecutor's Office: • One count of battery by means of a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony • One count of attempt to commit battery by means of a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony • One count of intimidation, a Level 5 felony • One count of criminal recklessness, a Level 5 felony • One count of unlawful carrying of a handgun, a Level 5 felony
