PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Valley nonprofit provides nutritious food boxes to communities in need. Now, thanks to a generous donation, the organization has some new wheels to make the vital deliveries.
Molina Healthcare of Arizona donated a refrigerated van to the nonprofit Advance Community . The healthcare organization donated $100,000 to support Advance Community’s food box program.
Through the program, families receive a 25-pound box filled with bread, milk, eggs, fruits and vegetables — enough to feed a family of four for two to three days. Recipes are included to help people make the most of the ingredients.
Since launching the food box program in summer 2024, Advance Community has delivered roughly 2,500 boxes to hundreds of people, with deliveries happening twice a month.
